Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about our pet Retreat services, facilities, and policies.
Booking & Deposits
Bookings are confirmed once the deposit has been received.
The remaining balance is due before or at the start of the boarding period unless otherwise agreed.
We recommend booking early during peak times to avoid disappointment.
Cancellations
We understand that plans can change. Cancellations made more than 30 days before the check-in date are fully refundable. Cancellations made between 7 and 30 days before the check-in date will have the deposit transferred to a future booking. Cancellations made within 7 days of the check-in date are non-refundable, as we may have turned away other bookings for the same period.
Animal Health & Welfare
The health and safety of all animals in our care is our top priority. Owners must ensure that:
- Pets are healthy and free from contagious illness or parasites before boarding.
- Any existing medical conditions are disclosed when booking.
- Clear instructions are provided for feeding, medication, or special care needs.
Owners must ensure annual vaccinations are up to date. Rabbits must be vaccinated against Myxomatosis, RHD1 and RHD2 within 12 months of the boarding. Proof of vaccination must be provided prior to check-in and vaccinations must have been administered at least 3 weeks before the stay. Please speak to your vet about the RHD Plus vaccine.
All animals boarding with us should be free from contagious illness and parasites. Owners are asked to provide familiar food where possible to avoid dietary upset. We reserve the right to refuse boarding if an animal appears unwell or poses a risk to other animals.
Veterinary Care
In the unlikely event that a pet becomes ill or injured while in our care:
- We will contact the owner immediately where possible.
- If urgent treatment is required and the owner cannot be reached, we will seek veterinary attention in the best interests of the animal.
- Any veterinary fees incurred will be the responsibility of the pet owner.
Food & Belongings
To help pets feel comfortable and maintain their normal routine, owners are required to provide:
- Their usual food
- Any bedding or familiar items if desired
- Clear feeding instructions
Behaviour & Safety
All pets must be safe to handle and not aggressive. Owners must inform us of any behaviour that may affect handling, such as:
- Nervousness
- Biting
- Escape tendencies
Home Visit Service
For home visits:
- Access arrangements must be agreed in advance.
- Owners must ensure pets are securely contained if necessary and that clear care instructions are provided.

At Little Acres Pet Retreat, every pet is treated with kindness, patience, and attentive care. Our goal is to provide a safe and relaxing environment so that both pets and owners can feel completely at ease.
